Skincare Basics Explained

At Auden we belive that skincare is like taking care of your health. It’s just like brushing your teeth, like taking a shower every day, like working out. The skin is the body’s largest organ and though people think of skincare as something more aesthetic it's more about daily investments in health.

Why start now?
We believe you feel most confident when you’re caring for your skin. Preventative skincare is far more effective than reparative treatments. Taking care of your skin every day is going to take care of a lot of problems down the road, it’s going to make you feel better and it’s your health that’s the most important.

Is Men’s Skin Different To Women’s?

Men’s skin is different to women’s in several key ways. Besides being hairier, the presence of testosterone makes it both oiler and up to 25% thicker ( thick skinned anyone!).
Men’s skin also has more (and larger) pores than women’s and has a higher density of collagen – the stuff that gives skin its structural integrity – which means it ages differently, often leading to late life wrinkles being more pronounced.
Is there really a need for male specific skincare line?
In short yes. We have carefully formulated our treatments to match the specific needs of men’s skin. Our mattifying moisturisers are designed to mitigate the extra oil in men’s skin (shine is often cited a major skin concern for men) and our Tripeptides Hyaluronic Acid Serum powers through to soothe skin irritated from daily shaving.
What's the best routine?
Step 1: Wash with a Gentle Cleanser.
Step 2: Use an Exfoliating Product Once or Twice a Week.
Step 3: Layer a Serum
Step 4: Use a Hydrating Anti aging Eye Cream.
Step 5: Add a Moisturiser, Followed by SPF Protection.
Ok, Any additional Tips?

Now that we have vovered some skincare basics, another fairly easy step for aiding your mug is  regularly changing your  pillowcases. The accumulation of oils, residual skincare, and whatever atmospheric dust finds its way on to your pillow can lead to irritation and unwanted acne, essentially revising all the work of your skincare routine. A swap over every 3-4 days will pay dividends.

In short, skin care for men doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive. What it should be, instead, is intentional and consistent.
